The Round House has a spacious garden, with a west facing patio area and table and chairs for up to 8 people and a large gas barbecue. The patio is adjacent to a flat lawn, with fabulous hammock and two sun loungers, and for the more active there is a football goal at the far end. The raised position of the property means that the garden provides both seclusion and sweeping views across South Milton and beyond. Surrounded by nature, you can bask in the peacefulness of the countryside and soak up the sunshine.
There is a hot and cold outside shower provided, perfect for showering after the beach. Up a short flight of steps and behind the house lies a wonderful private wild flower meadow. This space has lovely restful unspoilt countryside views, particularly from a wonderful terraced area set upon the top of the meadow, reached by a meandering path to the side of the house. Furnished with garden sofas, rugs and cushions it is a magical spot to while away an afternoon.
The local area
The pretty village of South Milton, with its thatched cottages and colourful gardens, is situated just 2 miles from the beautiful, golden beach at South Milton Sands.
Here, the views out to sea are enhanced by the famous Thurlestone Rock, which at low tide can be approached by rock climbing (don't forget to peer into the rock pools for signs of life!), and at high tide can be fully appreciated by kayaking or paddle boarding through the hole in the middle of the rock.
South Milton Sands is a popular spot for families and dog walkers, and is also home to The Beach House, a lovely café restaurant that serves amazing breakfasts, and deliciously simple seafood feasts throughout the day.
From South Milton Sands you can join the South West Coast Path and walk towards Hope Cove , Bolberry Down and Soar Mill Cove in the south, or Thurlestone and Bantham in the north.
The sailing mecca of Salcombe is only a 15 minute drive away, as is the market town of Kingsbridge – both of which offer plenty of choice for shopping and eating out.
