Edale is a lovely village community with a Post Office, shop and a couple of good pubs serving food, but it is best known as the start of the famous Pennine Way, and all around are excellent walks for all abilities. Nearby is the popular village of Castleton with its Blue John Cavern and castle as well as the pretty Hope Valley villages. The spa town of Buxton with its shops, restaurants and magnificent Opera House is within easy reach or you could spend a day exploring the magnificent Ladybower Reservoir.
