This cottage has been converted from the end of the owner’s oak-framed barn at the end of a no through lane on the edge of Upton Pyne. With lovely views over the Exe Valley as far as the Killerton estate, this is a great base for anyone in need of some rest and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. Take a couple of steps up into the spacious kitchen, well equipped with a dining area, then head on upstairs to your fabulous airy sitting room under the eaves with its elm floor and cosy wood burning stove. On a sunny day, open the French windows to the balcony where you can admire those views over Devon countryside. A couple of steps take you down to the two bedrooms sharing a smart family shower room. Wander down the gravel path to your outdoor seating area where you can eat alfresco, or you are welcome to enjoy the owners’ garden where hens and cats roam free. For a refreshing drink, a footpath will lead you to a good pub in less than a mile. The National Trust house and garden at Killerton are spectacular, or head to Dartmoor to admire some natural beauty. The coast is within easy reach at Exmouth or Dawlish, as well as the bright lights of the cathedral city of Exeter.
