The peace and quiet of the Peak district, with its maze of footpaths and cycle routes is within easy reach as is the magnificent Cannock Chase. Take some time to visit one of the local historic estates like Chatsworth House and the National Trust’s Shugborough Hall, Kedleston Hall or nearby Sudbury Hall and Calke Abbey is just 40 minutes away over in South Derbyshire. The lovely market towns of Lichfield and Ashbourne are a short drive away. Lichfield has a beautiful cathedral and you can visit Samuel Johnson’s Birthplace Museum and Erasmus Darwin’s House. Ashbourne has interesting shops and restaurants, antique shops and grand Georgian buildings. This Yoxall cottage is the ideal spot for a cosy, country getaway at any time of year.
