Located on the south-west coast of Cornwall on the edge of the working fishing village of Mevagissey, is this 1920’s house, Wisteria.
Wisteria provides comfortable, spacious and well-appointed accommodation for a traditional British seaside holiday.
The south facing lounge has comfortable sofas, TV with Chromecast and DVD player, views through the sash windows are out over the valley towards the harbour.
The dining room, also has sash windows to see the valley views and an electric coal-effect fire. The extendable dining table easily seats six and there is a cupboard of toys and games for a bit of family fun !
The large kitchen is towards the back of the house with wooden units, electric range cooker, fridge freezer and a breakfast table. A door leads to the utility area with the washing machine and tumble drier.
The first of two bathrooms in the property is on the ground-floor with a shower, basin and WC, while the upstairs bathroom has a roll-top bath with basin and WC.
The house has three bedrooms, the master bedroom and the bunk room on the first floor, and a double bedroom is on the ground floor.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an attractive day bed which makes it a perfect family room if needed or a place to relax for a couple.
The bunk room has full size single bunkbeds, suitable for children of any age. The room also has wardrobe and a velux window.
The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and a wardrobe with drawers.
The garden has four separate levels, all south facing.
The top level is a terrace with valley views, perfect for relaxing on the garden furniture with a coffee or a glass of wine. There is also a small lawn and an additional pub picnic table perfect for outside dining.
A five minute walk downhill will get you to Mevagissey Harbour, the centre of the village, full of pubs, restaurants and gift shops.
Eat chips on the harbour whilst watching out for the pesky seagulls.
A short drive or a 45 minutes walk will bring you to The Lost Gardens of Heligan:
“Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic.”
Further afield, it’s only 20 minutes to the Eden Project or 45 minutes to the Newquay’s Fistral Beach.
A walk along the South West Coast Path of around 2-miles north will bring you to the lovely Pentewan Beach for a day by the sea in sunny weather.
Wisteria’s secluded location means that access is via a narrow, unadopted road which is well maintained, but gravel rather than tarmac.
Wisteria is a fantastic property to bring your loved ones to for a fabulous Cornish adventure.
