Nestled in the bay of Inner Hope, 2A Coastguard Cottage is one of five traditional cottages built back in the 1850's. Located just 100 metres from the waters edge, this newly renovated, cosy cottage, makes for the perfect holiday destination. A few minutes walk away, takes you to the heart of Hope Cove, where you'll find sandy beaches, a village shop, several eateries and a busy vibrant pub.
An outside seating area allows you and your family to relax with a glass of your favourite tipple whilst watching the sun go down or simply sit and soak up the morning sun with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Holding on to the tradition of old cottages, there is an outbuilding at the rear of the property, providing an extra WC and shower. Perfect for washing off sand and sun cream from a fun day at the beach! There is also a parking space for one car, with more parking available in the village. Allowing one dog, this cottage is perfect for families or couples to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area.
The South West Coastal path is right on your doorstep, with Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth all within easy reach. They offer lovely boutique shops, scenic walks and a choice of lovely restaurants and pubs.
*Given both the staircases are steeper than average, this cottage would not be suitable for guests with mobility issues and the water pressure in the house is a characteristic of an older cottage.
A paved area at the front of the property which has seating and a small, grassed area. Outside shower, separate outside toilet.
Hope Cove is one of our most popular and sought-after destinations. A quaint old fishing village sat in picture postcard surroundings, it is home to some of the finest coastal holiday cottages in Devon. Hope Cove is the perfect location for those wanting a traditional British seaside holiday in a stunning, natural setting. Formed around the twin villages of Inner and Outer Hope, the cove benefits from two golden sandy beaches, and an abundance of rock pools for the kids to potter about in, looking for signs of marine life. The beach at Inner Hope often offers perfect conditions for safe body boarding.
Hope Cove is home to the Hope and Anchor pub and The Cove, an uber-cool café bar that serves late breakfasts and sunset suppers just a stone's throw from the scenic beach. The Hope Cove Gallery exhibits wonderful local art and crafts, and is a great place to pick up a souvenir or just have a lazy browse to escape the summer sun. Alternatively, treat yourself to an ice-cream, find a quiet bench and watch the waves gently roll into the bay. The adventurous might be inclined to set forth in search of little-known Beacon Beach, where they are likely to find themselves alone with only the gulls for company, while walkers can take the coast path east towards Bolberry and beyond, or west to South Milton Sands for a swim followed by a meal at the fabulous Beach House.
Quaint Thurlestone with its choice of stunning beaches is just a short drive away or can be reached by foot by following the coast path to the west. Bantham and Salcombe are also nearby, and you won't have to venture far to take in the rest of the South Devon countryside.
A holiday cottage in Hope Cove is the ideal choice for anyone looking for a memorable holiday on the Devon coast.
