Sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, Blackthorn Cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished, offering a wonderful base for exploring the North York Moors. Discover outstanding views on arrival before entering into the open-plan living space, with patio doors opening up onto a beautiful outdoor area, a sitting area with a TV and sofas, and a dining table to gather around and a modern fitted kitchen, complete with all the essentials and more including a washing machine and dishwasher. Head to the bathroom for a relaxing soak in the bath, or feel refreshed with a shower in the wet room style shower. There are two bedrooms to rest in, with a twin bedroom and a master double bedroom, both with doors opening up to the outside area so you can enjoy the fresh countryside breeze first thing on waking. The property sits on an idyllic working farm, and is on the outskirts of the village of Borrowby where you can find a lovely pub, The Wheatsheaf Inn. The town of Northallerton is within easy reach where you can enjoy afternoon tea at Bettys Café Tea Rooms before visiting the National Trust’s Mount Grace Priory, considered to be the best preserved Carthusian house in England. The North York Moors National Park is teeming with excellent walking areas and routes, with The Cleveland Way being a popular waymarked trail to follow, bringing you across some breath-taking landscapes. Take a trip further south to find the White Horse, the largest and most northerly of England’s horse figures created all the way back in 1857, it’s a fantastic sight to behold! Another historic and scenic setting is the National Trust’s Rievaulx Abbey and Terrace, dramatic 11th century ruins in the North York Moors with a café and visitor centre too. Enjoy some animal encounters at Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre, Monk Park Farm, and The Big Sheep & Little Cow, perfect for a family day out with little ones. Enjoy a peaceful break to North Yorkshire at Blackthorn Cottage.
