Designed with inverted accommodation and benefiting from double glazing, The Cider Press makes the most of its beautiful natural surroundings. Accessed via narrow country lanes, it provides a genuine “get away from it all” experience in one of Cornwall’s most picturesque settings.

Located within the stunning Luxulyan Valley, a designated World Heritage Site celebrated for its rich history and natural beauty, the property offers complete tranquillity, with no mobile phone reception. The riverside garden extends down to the boulder-strewn River Par, creating a serene space to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature.

The nearby villages of Luxulyan and St Blazey, both just 1.5 miles away, provide convenient local amenities including pubs, shops, and post offices. A short 15-minute drive opens up the wider attractions of Lostwithiel, Fowey, and St Austell, each offering a variety of independent shops, restaurants, and coastal charm.

Beach lovers are well catered for, with Par Sands’ expansive south-facing beach and the sheltered harbour beach at Polkerris both just 10 minutes away. From Fowey, visitors can also enjoy scenic boat trips along the coast.

St Austell is one of Cornwall’s biggest towns, steeped in history, and only a few miles away from the sea. For centuries, it was an important mining town. During the 18th Century, it was here that William Cookworthy discovered china clay, which really put St Austell on the map. Today, you’ll still be able to spot ‘the Cornish Alps’, towering white pits of china clay, and you can learn all about the town’s industrial past at the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum.

The town is also famous as the home of St Austell Brewery. It’s only right that you should enjoy at least one pint of Proper Job or Tribute Cornish ale during your stay in St Austell, and you can also take an interactive tour of the brewery.

One of the best things about choosing a holiday in St Austell is that you’ll find yourself just a few miles away from some of the prettiest harbour towns, river estuaries and beaches south Cornwall has to offer.
