Bedroom 3 with 2ft 6inch bunk beds (suitable for children only) and feature fireplace. Family bathroom with bath, WC and wash basin.

The Lodge is an attractive country cottage with extensive and beautifully-kept wrap-around gardens, with a large wildlife pond. Nestled on a quiet country lane in the heart of the Exe Valley, East Devon countryside surrounds the property and can be enjoyed from every aspect, offering a location with complete peace and tranquillity. This spacious cottage offers a welcoming retreat for couples or a family wishing to enjoy all that this area has to offer.
The ancient city of Exeter is just a short drive away, and slightly further afield, the property is centrally located in accessing the North and South Devon coastlines, and both Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks, all located within a comfortable drive.
Please note: This property is only suitable for a maximum of four adults due to the bunk beds.
The large, mature, beautifully-kept gardens wrap around the side and rear of the property, which includes an array of large trees and plants, as well as two spacious lawned areas that are divided by a large wildlife pond.
The French doors from the lounge lead to an al-fresco patio dining area with table and chairs for six, with views over the impressive grounds and surrounding East Devon countryside.
Please note: The pond is unfenced, and its bridge has been chained off due to it being unsafe, so please do not walk over it. No swimming or fishing in the pond, and please always supervise children outside.
Quiet, scenic and ideally placed for exploring mid-Devon, the Exe Valley is a lovely choice for a relaxed countryside break. This peaceful stretch of the county is dotted with traditional villages, winding river paths and beautiful rural views, making it ideal for walkers, wildlife lovers and anyone looking to relax and unwind.
The small, quiet hamlet of Upexe is a peaceful spot surrounded by open farmland and woodlands – a haven for birds and butterflies. A short drive away lies Thorverton, a charming village with a real sense of community. Here you’ll find a welcoming pub, a well-stocked local store, and pretty red-brick cottages lining the streets. Or Silverton, one of the oldest villages in Devon, is a lovely place to stroll around, with its historic church, thatched cottages, excellent pubs and regular village events.
The area is renowned for its natural beauty, so you can spend lazy days outside in the countryside. Take a riverside picnic, stop at one of the many farm shops for fresh local produce, or enjoy a leisurely cycle through the green Devon lanes.
If you fancy venturing a little further, the city of Exeter is just a few miles away with its striking cathedral, riverside walks and excellent choice of independent shops and eateries, it’s perfect for a day out. Or head into the hills to explore the Exe Valley Way, a scenic walking route that follows the River Exe from source to sea.
