The garden lounge features a stunning 180 degree view wood burner with feature wall behind. There is a separate comfortable lounge snug also with a wood burner and TV and a newly re-ftiited dining kitchen overlooking the gardens and offering ample space for guests wishing to spread out during their stay. Come dusk, the pretty outdoor lighting and gentle sound of the waterfall within the pond make for a relaxing atmosphere.
Upstairs the cottage includes a stylish bathroom and shower room which have been beautifully designed with convenience in mind. Both include Jack and Jill locking systems so that the bathrooms can be used as an en suite and/or family bathroom. Both include luxury fixtures and fittings including ambient lighting, heated towel rails, touch systems that operate the shower and bath as well as de-misting mirrors with sensor lighting. Three double bedrooms provide maximum comfort with plentiful storage space and crisp bedding. The new finish to Greenwood gives it a luxury feel whilst providing practical living accommodation for multigeneration families wishing to holiday together.
Greenwood is an ideal base for exploring the village and the rest of the New Forest National Park. With the property so centrally located all essential amenities can be found within walking distance including an array of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants in the village centre. The mainline railway station is within 5 minutes’ walk of the property and has services to London, Southampton, Lymington and Bournemouth.
The New Forest is an excellent destination for cyclists and walkers. Bikes can be hired locally in the village, with miles of cycle routes close by to enjoy. Greenwood is a delightful, welcoming holiday home which we have no hesitation in recommending for a holiday in the New Forest. Please note the master bedroom does include a set of bunk beds which are suitable for children only. A maximum of 6 adults only at the property.
To the rear of the house is a south west facing mature garden bordered by trees and shrubs with a small lawned area and covered fish pond with feature lighting. Young children must be supervised in the garden at all times. The peaceful garden also features a patio that wraps around the side and rear of the house offering easy access to the garden and outdoor dining areas. There is a rattan table and chair set with accompanying parasol, a second bistro set, chiminea for atmospheric evenings under the stars and a gas barbecue for al fresco meals (please note the barbecue should be cleaned by each guest). A pretty garden pergola leads to a summer house and garden bike stand, and a large selection of outdoor lawn games are available for guests to use, including jenga, quoits, boules, family croquet, and giant sets of 4 in a line, chess & draughts.
To the front there is a large open space garden incorporating the Eco driveway.

If you want a car free break, Brockenhurst is one of the best places to stay in the New Forest. It has a railway station in the heart of the village and branch line to the Georgian marine town of Lymington. London is just a 90 minute trip – perfect for a bolt hole weekend away.
Brockenhurst is in the centre of the New Forest. It’s a large, traditional English village displaying thatched cottages, quaint little lanes and gorgeous chocolate box picture perfect scenery. It’s a hotspot for visitors and locals to gather. It’s one of the largest villages in the area, yet its managed to preserve its countryside appeal and homely charm without the trappings of commercialism. The vibe in the village is a gentle pace of life akin to how a generation lived fifty years ago. There’s no huge superstore, instead you will find a large selection of shops selling everything you’ll need for a holiday including grocer, butcher, baker, village post office and chemist as well as an array of interesting shops selling beautiful gifts, books and hobby crafts.
The most famous residents of the village are the free roaming New Forest ponies, cattle and donkeys. They are often seen around the village, at garden gates and in the high street peeping in to the shops in the hope of a carrot or two. Visitors love the novelty of shopping alongside four legged friends.
There are lots of great photo opportunities in and around the village. Head to the ford, known as ‘The Watersplash’ at the bottom of the high street. You’ll often come across ponies and donkeys stopping off for a drink on their way to graze on the open forest which surrounds the village.
During warmer months’ visitors can head to a pretty picnic spot at Balmer Lawn. There’s lots of grass to lay out on as well as a shingle beach with shallow water overlooking the Lymington River – a great family spot!
It’s worth taking a look at the oldest church in the New Forest – St. Nicholas Parish Church which dates back to AD737. The church yard is just as fascinating. You’ll see an enormous Yew Tree to the left of the south entrance porch, that’s estimated to be over 1,000 years old. This is also a great spot to see a thick carpet of bluebells in the spring. Not far from the high street is the village hall which has a busy calendar of events throughout the year for locals and visitors to enjoy.
If you fancy some horseback riding, Brockenhurst Riding Stables based at the New Forest Activity Centre just outside the village have a great reputation. To hire bikes pop into Cyclexperience at the railway station, they have a large choice of bikes, electric bikes, tandems, tag-a-longs and children’s seats. There are lots of trails, routes and tracks from the village for bikes rides or walkers wanting anything from a short stroll to a daylong hike out in to the forest – pack a picnic and off you go.
Brockenhurst also has a wonderful collection of coffee shops and cafes. Try Rosie Lea's Tea House & Bakery and The Buttery. There are super friendly pubs and restaurant’s serving great food, our favourites include The Snakecatcher, The Foresters Arms, Bistro 26 and a great Indian restaurant called Dynasty. There’s also a good fish and chip shop and Chinese take away.
Parking for two cars on the Eco Driveway to the front of the property. Please follow the dragons teeth from the dropped curb with reflectors to guide you to the spaces to the front of the property.
EV Charging This property offers electric vehicle charging in the form of an electric 3 pin point on the side patio just behind the barbecue. Please let us know at the time of booking; there will be a £30.00 charge per vehicle per week and you will need to bring your own extension lead and charging cable.
